John 6:68 (ESV)
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,

These words of Peter followed a mass exodus of disciples of Christ who became offended by what He was teaching.  Instead of apologizing for the truth that He taught, Jesus turned to the apostles and asked them if they would go away as well (John 6:67).  Peter realized that if he and the other apostles wanted to be saved, there was no one else to whom they could turn.

The Bible is clear—Jesus is the only way to heaven.  It does not matter how unpopular this truth may be, it is an unchangeable fact.  Time will not change the answer, nor will a changing world.  From now until eternity, Jesus will be the only way to the Father.  When Peter was questioned by the Jewish Sanhedrin, he boldly told them as much, even though it was the last thing they wanted to hear.

Acts 4:12 (ESV)
12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Jews may reject this truth.  Muslims may deny it.  Followers of some other world religion may scoff at the notion that Jesus is the only one who has the words of eternal life, but it is an unalterable reality.  Whoever wants to be saved must turn to Jesus in faith and obedience to achieve it.

John 14:6 (ESV)
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Regardless of what the majority of people in this world believe, there is only one way to get to the Father Who is in heaven, and that way is Christ.  Without believing in Jesus, there is no hope of everlasting life.  Jesus told the Jews as much, even though He knew most of them would not accept it.

John 8:24 (ESV)
24 I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.”

The only choice we have is whether we want to go to heaven or hell.  How we get to those destinations has already been decided.  The real question is, why would you not want  Jesus as your Savior?  Who else gave up the riches of heaven and took on the form of a servant just so you could be forgiven of your sins?  Who else died for you on the cross?  The truth is, Jesus has earned your loyalty, and once you accept Him as your Savior, you will never have a better friend.

John 15:13–14 (ESV)
13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.  14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.

Not only has Jesus died for us, but He continues to work for us, helping us maintain a good relationship with the Father when we sin.  We can be restored when we fall because of the ongoing help of our Savior.

1 Timothy 2:5–6 (ESV)
5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

To whom should we go if we are seeking eternal life?  Jesus is the only one to whom we can turn.  This is never going to change.  If you have not yet turned to Him, you should do it sooner rather than later.

As you wind down for the night, think about these things.
